Pinellas County Extension Helps with New Year’s Resolutions

It’s that time of year again - time for New Year’s resolutions. Pinellas County Extension can help residents make, not break, their resolutions for 2012. Here are some tips to help enhance 2012.

  1. Resolve to build a stronger family                         Florida News - Pinellas County Florida
    The Extension website offers information on how to make your family stronger, even in times of struggle, and ways to cope with issues concerning finances, relationships and stress. The website also includes suggestions on embracing an optimistic attitude about the future to lay the foundation for a stronger family and a happier New Year.

  2. Resolve to practice better money management.
    Extension provides advice on ways to manage saving, spending and debt. Online suggestions include making a spending plan and seeking further education on money management.

  3. Resolve to eat healthier.
    Now that the holidays are officially over, it’s time to put down the cookies and pick up the carrot sticks. Become more informed on healthy eating and healthy living to make the nutrition switch a little easier. From tips on food safety to advice on taking advantage of locally grown food, the Extension website serves as a guide for this classic New Year’s resolution.

  4. Resolve to go green at home.
    Protect the family’s health, save money and conserve energy by making your home more environmentally friendly. Reduce exposure to toxic chemicals, purchase green products, conserve water and much more.

  5. Resolve to increase the beauty of your lawn and landscape.
    Extension has information on citrus care, landscape and lawn design as well as contact information for customers with specific questions to fulfill this resolution.

  6. Resolve to live a better life.
    Information on handling stress, health and career issues is provided such as taking time to listen to music, catching up on sleep and recognizing when it is time to take that next step and ask for professional help.
